Plant lovers and art aficionados can equally appreciate the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators’ exhibit at the Flower Show. Keeping with the U.K. theme, the PSBI has collected more than 50 carefully selected paintings that feature daffodils, peonies, hellebores, and other flowers found in Great Britain.
The painting attached to this post is of a variety of magnolia that John Bartram sent to England. The artist is Keiko Tarver, a member of the PSBI.
When you visit the exhibit you will most certainly marvel at the detail and realism on display. To help you understand the process behind the paintings, check in with the on-hand artist who will give live demonstrations and happily answer questions. A botanical illustrator will be there every day of the Show from 10 am to 6 pm.
In addition, there will be a coloring sheet for budding artists—forgive the pun!
