Joys and Chores in the Fall Garden, Saturday, October 20, 10 am-12 pm
There are many rewarding things to do in the garden in the fall. Horticulturist Lori Hayes will talk about planting selection, spring bulbs, cutting back plants, creating fall and winter containers, and collecting and storing seeds.
Evening Garden Stroll at Meadowbrook Farm, Thursday, October 25, 4-6 pm
Join horticulturist Tom Reber for a guided walk through Meadowbrook’s gardens. Tom will highlight specific plants, plant combinations, and the overall vision for the design of the garden.
Cool Season Vegetable Gardening, Saturday, November 10, 10 am-12 pm
Organic farmer Nicolas Esposito will talk about how to keep your vegetable garden producing as winter sets in. He’ll discuss cold frames, row covers, and types of crops that flourish in cooler weather.
The Art of Bonsai, Saturday, November 17, 10 am-12 pm
Meadowbrook horticulturist Bernard Pettit will inspire you to try your hand at this ancient art. He’ll discuss basic bonsai principles such as intent, design, tools, and techniques, as well as offer tips from professionals.
Children’s Classes at Meadowbrook Farm, Cohosted by Pennypack Farm and Education Center
Bring the young ones to Meadowbrook Farm for hands-on gardening and outdoor fun. Classes are offered for two age groups: Little Seeds (3–4 years) and Little Sprouts (5–6 years). Registration and payment are required in advance. Refunds and make-ups are not available for missed classes. Siblings aged 2 and under are welcome to tag along free of charge.
