The 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show featured the Philadelphia Water Department’s exhibit “Green City, Clean Waters,” and elements of the exhibit have been re-created at the Philadelphia International Airport. Gary Radin of GMR Design, helped with the installation, along with Flower Show designer, Sam Lemheney, and PHS staffer Anne Vallery. The exhibit demonstrates the Water Department’s nationally acclaimed approach to storm water management, which uses green systems such as permeable streets, green roofs, and tree plantings. Look for the display if you’re traveling through Terminal D.

The Flower Show, which benefits the greening programs of the PHS, showcases excellence in landscape and floral design and innovative ideas for building sustainable, healthy communities. To learn about the 2013 Flower Show, “Brilliant!” please visit theflowershow.com.
