From using cold frames to best practices in lawn care and sustainability, Chanticleer has a bounty of valuable and informative programs for home gardeners. These classes fill up fast, so be sure to register soon to save your spot!

Bounty Hunters, Wednesday, August 22 at 6 pm. Join Doug Croft for a stroll through Chanticleer’s vegetable garden and cold frames to explore what is ripe for harvest. He will highlight some of the oddities in the vegetable world and discuss ways to prepare them that will tantalize your palate. Limit: 25. Fee: $18 members, $23 nonmembers. CANCELLED

Turf Wars: Straighten Your Bent Grass, Wednesday, September 12 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Chanticleer’s Scott Steinfeldt will provide an overview of lawn care basics every homeowner should know. His topics will include the best turf grass varieties for residential lawns, maintenance, mowing frequency, fertilizing and watering, and essential mowing and other lawn care equipment. Limit: 25. Fee: $18 members, $23 nonmembers.

Walk: Sustainable Chanticleer, Tuesday, September 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. It’s happening everywhere: what is it? The Green Movement. Chanticleer has undertaken a strategic goal to safeguard our environment and Joe Henderson will interpret how their green practices can help us to change our own impact on our planet’s limited resources every time we garden. Limit: 25. Fee: $18 members, $23 nonmembers.
