The July/August issue of Green Scene features some of the best in outdoor living, and the magazine itself has a new look to celebrate its fortieth anniversary. The editorial staff has given the publication a contemporary update while maintaining its focus on gardening, design, the Philadelphia International Flower Show, and more.
In the current issue, a fantasy garden in Malvern is profiled–a fairytale combination of art, ponds, plants, structures, and furniture. Seating is the focus of another article, with advice on how to choose the perfect bench, chair, or chaise for your outdoor spaces.
On other pages, Flower Show exhibitors share some landscape tips– including how to add lighting, a water feature, and well-designed containers to your garden, while another feature shows us how to use cuttings from trees and shrubs, bark, and stone along with traditional floral materials to create stunning arrangements.
If you’d like to receive Green Scene, either in the mail or for your e-reader, become a member of PHS. The magazine includes timely information about how to use your PHS membership, as well as a new section entitled “PHS Travel,” which features some of the best spots for gardeners to visit in a variety of travel destinations. To become a member, call 215-988-8776 or email memserv@pennhort.org. Bistro set image courtesy of Alfresco Home.
