Join us for Foodie Fridays in the Pop Up Garden!! Every Friday at noon, the garden will host conversations about food, nutrition, and healthy communities, led by area experts. Today, July 20, Atiyaola Sankofa, owner of Atiya Ola’s Spirit First Foods, will talk about “Healthy Eating: Why Raw?” NOTE: the presentation for today has been cancelled due to rain, but the garden will remain open.
Also starting today the garden will welcome the PHS City Harvest Farmers’ Market every other Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm. The biweekly market will educate about food security while providing fresh produce to the Philadelphia community. Organized by members of the PHS City Harvest Growers Alliance—a group of urban farmers and gardeners who sell Philly-grown, organic produce—the market will provide a seasonal selection for sale to Pop Up visitors, who can expect to find delicious early summer produce like collards, kale, and tomatoes. Later in the season, a bounty of early fall produce will be available for purchase, including eggplant, peppers, spinach, and salad mixes.
We hope to see you in the Pop Up for Foodie Fridays!!
