The PHS Pop Up Garden at 1905-15 Walnut Street is hosting a variety of events in July for kids and adults; mark your calendar and join us for some fun and fellowship among the flowers and foliage!
For the kids:
Move, Groove n’ Play, Tuesdays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm: Take your young ones to open play time the garden.
Story Time in the Garden, Tuesday, July 10 at noon: Join Free Library of Philadelphia children’s librarian Ms. Karen for a read-aloud geared for children age 4 through 8. Earn stickers and prizes for the Free Library’s “Dream Big” summer reading program.
Healthy Environment and Healthy You, Tuesday, July 17 and 31 at 1:30 pm. Discover how the environment shapes our lives with friends from the Academy of Natural Sciences.
Science in the Garden, Tuesday, July 24 at noon. Enjoy science activities for children, presented by the Franklin Institute.
Yummilicious, Thursdays at noon: Children will learn the superpowers of fruit and vegetables from Yummilicious characters through crafts, songs, yoga, and games. Presented by Rittenhouse Square Flower Market for Children’s Charities.
For adults:
Garden Chat, Thursday, July 12 and 19 at 5:30 pm: Join PHS experts for a casual talk around the table about gardening topics that interest you, some of which include “Small Garden, Big Ideas,” “City Meadows,” and “Right Plant, Right Place.”
For everyone:
Second Saturday, July 14 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. For those who can’t visit the garden during the week, here’s a great opportunity to see all it has to offer! Bring a bag lunch and dine at the gathering table, grab the kids and a few hula hoops and play on the lawn, or bring your camera and shoot a few pictures for our Tablecloth Project!
