Cooking with Herbs
Thursday, July 12, 6:00-8:00 pm

Savor the flavor and scents of using herbs in your summer cooking. Meadowbrook Farm staff will demonstrate how to add just the right flavor to your summer dishes. Discover new varieties to grow that you might not find at the grocery store, and learn how to use them in a new and interesting way. $18.00 PHS members and $23.00 nonmembers.

Using a variety of plants, horticulturist Mia Mengucci will provide suggestions for growing herbs and vegetables in pots, hanging baskets, and a variety of other planters. Free;  preregistration is required.

We all know that fresh home-grown vegetables are one of the greatest joys of gardening, but what about those of us who don’t have the space for the classic large vegetable patch?  Contrary to conventional thinking, vegetables can be beautiful and don’t necessarily require a large space.  Join the Meadowbrook Farm staff in learning how to select varieties that will enliven your containers and fit well in tight spaces.  Even if the only spot you have is a windowsill or fire escape, we’ll help you make it both beautiful and delectable. $18.00 PHS members and $23.00 for nonmembers.

Join us for this family- and kid-friendly event as Philadelphia Flower Show Jr. winners Caroline Anne and Eva Mary Timoney demonstrate and discuss this magical art. Space is limited and preregistration is required.
