Hidden courtyards, incredible container gardens, and well-planted window boxes are just a few of the hallmarks of the gardens of Philadelphia. You’ve worked hard to create yours—why not show off  your efforts by entering the City Gardens Contest, an exciting opportunity to be recognized for your skillful and imaginative gardening within the city of Philadelphia.

PHS believes that city gardeners deserve praise and support for their efforts and ability to cope with potentially difficult growing conditions.

Home gardeners may enter front- or back-yard flower and vegetable gardens, or gardens grown exclusively in containers. Community gardeners may enter their garden, park, or block as well. Participants will receive a certificate of participation from PHS and an opportunity to receive the judges’ notes about their garden.

Your garden is part of Philadelphia’s rich heritage of green spaces. Let PHS celebrate that by entering the City Gardens Contest. The deadline is June 10. We look forward to seeing what you do!
