PHS and the Franklin Institute are teaming up to bring you a walking and biking tour of 18 urban gardens in West Philadelphia—and you’re invited!

Beginning in Clark Park and moving westward, the tour will showcase some of West Philly’s most progressive (and beautiful) urban gardens. In anticipation of National Food Day (October 24), the tour aims to stimulate a conversation about the contributions that these gardens make to local food sustainability. The gardens will be open from noon to 5 pm, so hop on your bike or pull on your walking shoes, and come on out!

The tour will take place as part of a larger project called the Climate & Urban Systems Partnership (CUSP), in which various institutions citywide will debut programs dedicated to engaging urban audiences in climate change education.
