From producing fresh food to strengthening neighborhood bonds, community gardens have a huge impact on the quality of city life. Through its Philadelphia Green program, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) has helped thousands of Philadelphia residents turn neglected vacant lots into thriving community gardens in every corner of the city. PHS supports these gardens with technical assistance, training, and networking.
